THE ONE-SHOULDER SWEATER
Trend
The true must-have of the autumn season is the ONE-SHOULDER SWEATER, which gives more movement and sensuality to the silhouette of whoever decides to flaunt it.
But how can it be paired?
You need little, a pair of jeans, tailored trousers, a dark denim midi skirt or even an animalier sheath model.
How is the one-shoulder sweater made?
I thought of proposing this idea, then if you are already skilled and have made one, send it to us so we can admire your skill and also show it to those looking for inspiration.
Pattern for making the one-shoulder sweater.
Creating a one-shoulder crochet sweater can be a challenging project, but definitely doable. Below I provide a simple guide on how you might proceed.
Of course, the sizes and design may vary according to your needs and preferences.
Materials:
- Suitable yarn (the amount will depend on the size and desired length of the sweater)
- Crochet hook of the size recommended for your yarn
- Measuring tape
- Wool needle

For the yarn suitable for this work I recommend something light, so as to stay in line with your curves, to flaunt even with a blazer with maxi shoulders, with a maxi cardigan or with the no. 1 ally for those who love seasonal fashion: the TRENCH.
THE COLLEGIATE SWEATER OR V-NECK.
Trend
Dubbed by me with this name, having no technical name, perhaps V-neck sweater would be just as good. Surely this autumn season we are seeing everywhere clothing with a collegiate allure. A few days ago, during my beloved shopping, I catapulted myself into a cute college-themed corner, or bon-ton schoolgirl style, in one of the many H&M stores, but just open Instagram or TikTok to admire the explosion everywhere of this style.
But how can it be combined?
Let creativity run free, surely one of the current youth trends is the white sock combined with the leather loafer, leather or faux leather, but also suede or fabric, depending on tastes. So design a collegiate sweater, buy straight-cut jeans and let yourself be enveloped by this teenager wave.
How is the collegiate or V-neck sweater made?
I relied on the tips of the Do-It-All Fairy to offer you some hints on this and I chose to talk to you about making a sweater with a V-neck, using the top-down technique.
Beware, what is the TOP DOWN TECHNIQUE?
It is a wonderful technique that allows us to make many different garments from tops to cardigans, from jackets to dresses. With this working technique the project starts from the neck, here I leave you the video to see the correct steps for the work

For this project I recommend autumnal or elegant colors such as red, mustard yellow, teal, patrol, fir green, midnight blue, cream (the color to be preferred for this autumn and this style), colors that you find in the color folder of justin baby.
THE TWIN-SET
Trend
Another major protagonist of the autumn and winter season, revisited in a modern key compared to the classics worn by women in the 70s, is the TWIN-SET.
It consists of a classic combination of two coordinated clothing items: a sweater or top and a cardigan or light jacket. Both pieces are crafted using the same technique, often in the same color or complementary shades, to create a harmonious and sophisticated look.
Characteristics of Crocheted Twin Sets:
- Materials: Crocheted twin-sets are often made with light and delicate yarns such as cotton, linen, or mixed yarns. This ensures they are breathable, comfortable, and suitable for different seasons.
- Design: The beauty of the crocheted twin-set often lies in the details. It can feature different patterns and designs, from simple single crochet to the more elaborate fan or pineapple stitch. Some twin-sets have embossed details, like flowers or other decorative motifs applied.
- Versatility: One of the main advantages of twin-sets is their versatility. They can be worn together for a coordinated look or separately, combined with other clothing items.
- Finishes: Many crochet creations pay particular attention to finishes. Edges can be finished with elegant shell stitches or small beads. Sometimes, the cardigan buttons are also made of crochet or matched to complete the design.
- Adaptability: Given the flexible nature of crochet, twin-sets can easily be adapted to various sizes and shapes, ensuring a perfect fit.
- Styles: Although the traditional twin-set is quite classic, there are many different styles, from vintage and retro designs to more modern and contemporary models.
The crocheted twin-set is a testament to the timeless charm of handmade craftsmanship. It combines the elegance of traditional design with comfort and functionality, making it a popular choice for women of all ages.
But how can it be combined?
- Casual Look: For an everyday outfit, pair the twin-set with high-waisted jeans and sneakers. Add a crossbody bag and simple jewelry to complete the look.
- Office and Business: For a more formal look, wear the twin-set with a pencil skirt or tailored trousers. Add a pair of pumps, an elegant bag, and sophisticated accessories.
- Evening Look: For an evening out, opt for a twin-set in a luxurious color or material. Pair it with palazzo pants or a flowing long skirt. Complete with high heels, a clutch, and sparkling jewelry.
- Preppy Style: For a preppy-inspired look, pair the twin-set with a collared shirt underneath, a pleated skirt, and Oxford shoes or loafers.
- Bohemian Look: For a boho touch, wear the twin-set with a floral maxi skirt, flat sandals, and ethnic-style accessories such as drop earrings or beaded bracelets.
- Sporty Style: For a sportier approach, pair the twin-set with leggings or sporty pants, a headband, and sneakers. It's the ideal outfit for a day of errands or a weekend walk.
- Winter Layering: During the colder months, use the twin-set as a base to create layers. Wear a long coat or parka over it, and finish with scarves, hats, and gloves.
- Summer Style: In the warmer months, wear only the twin-set sweater with denim shorts, sandals, and sunglasses. The cardigan can be used on cooler evenings.

For this project, I recommend a fine and elegant thread, such as mohair.
THE JACQUARD SWEATER
Trend
A mere mention is not enough for this piece of clothing that seems more like a work of art when studied in detail, but we must be concise.
Characteristics of Jacquard
- Complex Designs: The main feature of jacquard is its ability to depict detailed and intricate motifs, ranging from simple geometric shapes to depictions of animals, flowers, or any other imaginable design.
- Variety of Colors: Jacquard sweaters can feature a wide range of colors. In some models, different colored yarns are used to create the design, making the final result very vibrant and detailed.
- Working Technique: Jacquard knitting requires a special technique and precision. In hand knitting, this means following a specific pattern and changing yarn color carefully, ensuring that the unused threads on the back remain tidy and don’t tangle.
- Fabric Density: Due to the nature of the jacquard design and the need to carry extra threads behind the work, the resulting fabric can be denser and heavier compared to other types of knits.
- Work Direction: On the back of the jacquard sweater, you can see the threads carried behind to create the design. This side, often hidden when wearing the garment, has a characteristic appearance with small "bridges" of yarn connecting the color zones.
- Uniqueness: A hand-made jacquard sweater is unique. Even when following the same pattern, small variations made by the craftsman's hand make it a special and one-of-a-kind piece.
- Care: Given the intricate work and the presence of multiple threads on the back, jacquard sweaters require special care. It's recommended to hand wash and lay flat to dry to maintain the shape and beauty of the design.

For this project, she chose to combine two yarns, the solid chuck and the lurex version, to give the project brightness and elegance.
THE CARDIGAN
Trend
It's the symbol of the GRUNGE style, and the most popular garment related to the season's knitwear.
"Wait, wait, what's the GRUNGE style?"
The GRUNGE STYLE is a fashion movement that originated in the '90s, inspired by the grunge music genre from Seattle, with bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains. It's a style that expresses a sort of rebellion against mainstream culture, emphasizing a "careless" and "bare" approach to clothing.
Characteristics of grunge style:
- Worn Clothing: One of the main characteristics of grunge is the "worn-out" look of the clothing. Ripped jeans, faded t-shirts, and worn shirts are fundamental elements.
- Layering: Wearing various layers of clothing is typical of the grunge style. For example, a short-sleeved shirt over a long-sleeved one, or a cardigan over a flannel shirt.
- Flannel Shirts: Perhaps one of the most iconic items of the grunge look, flannel shirts, often plaid, are a must. They are often worn open over t-shirts.
- Dark and Muted Colors: Although the red of flannel can be bright, in general, grunge style colors tend to be dark and muted: black, gray, military green, and burgundy are some examples.
- Boots: Combat boots like Dr. Martens, or other robust and often scuffed or worn boots, are essential footwear to complete the grunge look.
- Minimalist Accessories: Grunge style tends to have few accessories, but they can include leather bracelets, necklaces with meaningful pendants, or safety pins.
- Hair and Makeup: Hair tends to have a natural, sometimes messy or "unkempt" look. Makeup, if present, may emphasize the eyes with dark eyeshadows or eyeliner, but in general, follows a "less is more" approach.
- Attitude: More than just a fashion, grunge represents an attitude and a certain kind of ethos. It's about rejecting excess, embracing simplicity, and in a way, celebrating authenticity and genuineness.

I thought of suggesting an idea from the sweet Egle Breme, also to dust off the needles you have at home.

Based on your preferences, consider going for a solid color, possibly considering the bravissimo or the baby key, or a gradient nuance like the ringo.
