Crochet Tutorial: How to Make a Handmade Office Mug Cozy.
Dear Tessiland readers,
Happy Wednesday, which feels like Sunday for some, a regular weekday for others.
How time flies, just yesterday it was summer, and today we find ourselves welcoming a new month of the year that will lead us to the winter season.
We would like to start with some events that have a single theme, a bit spicy for some, pleasant for others; we're talking about CHRISTMAS. Which side are you on? Do you love Christmas or not?
If you're passionate about crochet and want to add a personal touch to your coffee or tea break at the office, you've found the right article! Today, we will guide you step by step in creating an adorable handmade mug cozy with crochet. This project is perfect for both beginners and experienced crochet enthusiasts, and it will allow you to personalize your office accessory in a unique way.
Materials Needed.
To get started, make sure you have the following materials on hand:
- Bravissimo yarn in cream and taupe colors
- taupe bravissimo cream bravissimo
- Crochet hook of the appropriate size for the chosen yarn.
- crochet hook
Processing Procedure.
Step 1: Choose the pattern and yarn.
Our pattern is very simple and fast, given that these are our first projects. We've opted for a yarn we've used in previous meetings, we're talking about Bravissimo50, a yarn suitable for both accessories and clothing. The pattern will be circular, to be used on a glass or a mug.
Step 2: Start with the base.
We began our work by chaining 55 stitches.
Then we worked 2 chains and worked back by making a single crochet in each chain.
Step 3: Work on the body of the mug cozy.
Once single crochets have been worked across the entire row of chains, make a chain and turn the work, continuing to work a single crochet in each single crochet from the previous round.
Step 4: Create the upper section.
When the body of the mug cozy reaches the desired height, you can proceed with finishing the work.
We worked 14 rounds.
Step 5: Finish the mug cozy.
Once you have completed the body of the mug cozy, cut the yarn about 20cm from the skein. Using a yarn needle, join the two worked edges together, and you will have completed the solid-colored mug cozy.
If you want to add a different touch to your project, you can use a different colored yarn and a yarn needle to create details on the worked band.
Step 6: Fit the mug cozy to your favorite cup.
If your cup has a handle, after creating the details, you can add buttons to create a closure that allows you to remove the detail before washing.
Now we are ready to bring our personalized mug cozy to the office and enjoy our coffee or tea in style.
We hope this guide has been helpful, and you can enjoy the creative process and the final result of your handmade mug cozy. Happy crocheting!
