For pulling elastics and cords through belts, hoods, etc., the threading needles made of hardened steel or refined brass are suitable. The brass version is a needle that splits in the shank and opens towards the eye, whose tip is rounded into a spherical shape. If a ribbon is inserted into this eye and lowered between the halves of the needle shank, it locks in place and can then be securely pulled through the tunnel. The other removable needle in stainless steel is also a blunt needle. However, it has a wide, flattened, and thus thinner needle shank with a long, round eye. The long eye is intended to accommodate ribbons and thick threads, the turn is suitable for finer threads and round rubbers. The burr-free needle tips cannot pierce the fabric and thus slide easily through each fabric tube. The well-balanced spring hardness and the smooth coated surface make these needles professional tools.
