Another little brick in our "ECO LOGICAL" project!
The viscose fiber used to make this yarn is made using wood pulp from FSC® certified forests (international certification, specific for the forestry sector and products - woody and non-woody - derived from forests) therefore 100% sustainable cultivation.
Cellulose is converted into a spinnable solution and then colored fiber using state-of-the-art technology with low environmental impact (40% less river discharges, 40% less greenhouse gas emissions, 40% less water consumption, 55% less energy consumption and 55% less steam consumption compared to the technology of piece-dyeing or yarn-dyeing).
50% of the Green Day is made up of Recycled Polyester with GRS certificate (the Global Recycled Standard provides for the issuance of a third-party verified environmental statement that ensures the content of recycled materials of their products, both intermediate and finished, the maintenance of traceability throughout the entire production process, restrictions on the use of chemicals and compliance with environmental and social criteria at all stages of the production chain from the recycling of materials, the following manufacturing phases, up to the labelling of the finished product).
Recycled polyester, also known as rPET, is obtained by melting the existing plastic and trimming it into a new polyester fiber. Important sources of this Eco friendly product are precisely the plastic bottles or containers thrown away by consumers, making waste sorting useful and reusing a material that would otherwise end up in our seas.
So, also the fashion world can and must make a contribution to nature.... and GreenDay is yet another brick that Tessiland places in this “ECO LOGICAL” project , started already from some time, with now a large amount of products in the catalog.
