WHAT VAPORIZATION TREATMENT IS AND WHY IT IS MADE.
In vaporization treatment the yarn with a natural fiber pass through some chambers and goes through a steam treatment which will swell up and loosen the fiber.
The vaporization treatment will make the yarn softer and more stable, it will swell up and the fiber will “explode”.
In Barry we have a 70° double cycle vaporization to get the best from it.
Weight change from 3 to 5% is possible because of the particular working procedure.
BARRY IS A “STOPPINO” WOOL BLEND. WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
It's a yarn with a particular twisting, it's very soft and easy to crochet. Its light fibers are twisted, and that makes it vaporous, but at the same time, it's easy to find some difficulties if the yarn is twisted the other way around.
In this case you just need to understand the yarn right twisting side and crochet it on the right way. You could crochet it on the other way around if you are left handed or in some other particular cases.
We suggest you to use knitting needles or circular knitting needleseven ifhook hook is always more and more used because it's easier to crochet with it. Before starting your creation, we suggest you to check the right side of the twisting yarn.
HOW CAN YOU TAKE CARE OF BARRY? WASHING AND MAINTENANCE
As well as each handmade item of clothing, washing is very important for a creation made with Barry.
We suggest you to hand-wash at 30°, use a mild wool detergent, do not hang it, let it dry away from a heat source (dab it with a towel first).
Fibers, both natural and those which are obtained from plants need to be considered as “alive”, that's why we should take care of them to get the best result.
You'd also consider the kind of creation you're making. If you crochet something “airy” it'll be more difficult to “take care of it” , on the opposite, it will be easier that your creation will keep the same shape, and it will be beautiful over time.
DO I HAVE TO HAND-WASH WHAT I CREATE?
Modern washing machines have a delicate cycle and also cleaning soaps are suitable
to use washing machine for your creations.
We suggest, anyway, to devote time to your creations not only while realizing it, but also later, when you'll take care of them!
